Some interesting comments from Serena after the match. Saying she played her worst match of the tournament. I thought I heard Chris Everett saying that she thought Serena was playing her best tennis in a while.

I have't heard anything yet, but what the chances there's a parade or more like a celebration? And would it be at Misissauga Celebration Square or Nathan Phillps Square downtown?

Also depends on her schedule. Don't wanna wait till it gets too cold.

I don't recall if anything was done for Donovan Bailey here or Mike Weir or Brooke Henderson in their hometowns. Surely there must have been. Or for JV winning the F1 WC.

My friend used to live across from the Romanian church at Burnhamthorpe and Dixie. They must have had a viewing party and a good time must have been had. I always wondered if some of those super fine Romanian strippers I saw or got dances from went there to repent lol. Though I don't know how many are Catholic.

Apparently there's a Romanian park/camp too, on Hamilton Burlington border up in the Escarpment. Would have been a good time there too.

Don't think there'll be any sort of parade - there usually isn't for individual sporting wins.

She'll probably be showing up to events and such. She'll probably wind up throwing a pitch again at a Jays game and a ceremonial thing at a Leafs game.

I wouldn't be surprised if she gets an invite to a late night talk show.

Canada doesn't have late night talk shows.

I don't think it was specified it had to be a Canadian talk show. If she is staying in New York any length of time, I can totally see her being on Colbert or Fallon early this week.

I was referring to the American late night talk shows.

Is she colourful enough in terms of charisma to warrant inviting her? Otherwise I doubt they routinely invite US Open winners as a matter of course. Might depend on her agent more than anything.

This was a big deal in Canada, and rightfully so.

Not so much in the US for obvious reasons.

Regarding Bianca, if she becomes as great as many suspect the Canadian Open may have to build a bigger stadia. Tennis will boom and demand for tickets will go much much higher. They should also look at giving the women as much as the men.

Not sure of the right thread for this, but I believe this is where e-sports have been discussed.

Ottawa high school offering credited e-sports class

Starting Tuesday, the Centre professionel et technique Minto, a school at La Cité's Ottawa campus that prepares students for careers in the trades, will be teaching students how to best play video games.

It's actually a secret plan by the Ontario Ministry of Health to save on healthcare costs by pushing some Boomers over the edge early before they become a drain on the health-care system.

This particular French language school board in Ottawa is known for trying new things.

I believe they've also experimented a "balanced calendar" in one or some of their schools, which basically does away with summer vacation and spreads the equivalent number of weeks off throughout the school year instead.
