OSLO - projects

It will be long before we see any buildings on that scale in Norway. There just is to much opposition from nimbys if the economic profits from such landmarks wasn't bad enough from the start....

The idea has been seriously scaled down in height, altough design ambitions are still high, it's such an early stage that the render should only be considered a nice render for the moment. Imagine such a complex in Oslo? I sure can't... Investor is commonly nicknamed the king of "air-castle" projects still.

yes i can imagine that, its green, and everything else about it seems completely fine, imagine building that though, pretty unique

id love to see Norway build some pretty tall unique buildings, i think it would be quite amazing and i definately hope it happens too, go Norway!, same for the rest of Scandanavia

I think I should go back in a few years to see some of these once they're completed. Next time I go to Norway, I'll probably spend more than a week.

My point was that it was to much of a fairytale-design to ever be built, it may be redesigned to ~box tough. Here in Oslo even the high-profile projects turns out to be simple designs despite promises of daring architecture, altough i would love to see it happend i don't believe it will look anything like that in the end.

Tallest building getting a height increase?
A proposed extension of Radisson Blu Plaza has been redesigned, i didn't bother to post it earlier as no one was positive about the old project that was a horizontal extension, it's now redrawn into a combination of 13 floors next to it, and 5 floors at the top.
