Is the first phase going to be facing Van Buren or Monroe? Hopefully Van Buren first.

Perhaps the question to ask is - what other structures does the crane have to clear to operate on the site?

I thought this was also a little more than housing, no? I know it's like "community living" or whatever, but will the ground floor have a few restaurants open to the public? I really hope so. I'm not so against the superblock if they put in a few restaurants. This also should help The Van Buren, State 48 Brewing and that new pizza place and bar that just went it survive!

The first phase as I posted would be facing South. So I sure hope the 2nd phase doesn't bust as that's the phase that would front Van Buren.

I am ok if this project is single phased for now or the developer revisits phase 2 later. I like it for what it is, but it's too much of a stub on an important piece of dirt that is growing in importance with Downtown's mid-west side.

For example, downtown is strangely running out of parcels big enough to build a decent, large floorplate office building if the submarket ever picks back up and the half block may as well be left over for that.

PMG Seals $102M Financing for Phoenix Multifamily Project

https://commercialobserver.com/2019/10/pmg-phoenix/

Quote:
An East Coast development firm has secured a $102 million loan to fund an innovative multifamily building in Downtown Phoenix, Commercial Observer can exclusively report.

The loan, from Los Angeles’ CIM Group, will fund the project by the developer, PMG, to build a 253-unit residential tower at 200 West Monroe Street in the Arizona capital, within the three-block-by-10-block area that comprises the city’s most densely developed section. The project will be the second in a planned series of a new PMG developments aimed at demand for upscale but affordable apartments...

Katerra hasn't posted any new webcam for X, but I did find this one and I think it looks just directly over the site for X:

That's the City of Phoenix North webcam (https://www.phoenix.gov/citycam). Not sure when UEB...er, I mean Katara, will put up an X construction cam. Also of wierd note, Katara has removed Kenect from there projects page (or forgot to put it on there?).

Yeah I know it's City of Phoenix North webcam, but it will have to suffice until Katerra decides to put up a webcam. In regards to Kenect, I'm not sure whether or not it's been removed from Katerra's webpage. However, the webcam for Kenect on Katerra's webpage is actually up and running and is listed as Akara since the project is technically Akara Kenect.

Can't believe they built it high like this. Not even complete by end of day. I seem to recall when they put up cranes for the 24th St/Camelback projects they put up a small base - added a jumper - and finished assembly. They used the jumper to move the crane up taller as needed. Wonder why they are going this way - are jumpers rare now?
