PARIS | Tour Saint-Gobain | 178 M | 39 FLOORS

With a height of 318 m, that tower would become the highest of Western Europe or EU .

This tower is APPROVED
Construction should begin in early 2008

Renders :

inside

The central spire will be in the shape of a pyramid. According to the architects, the design of the central spire is meant to be reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower. 18 wind turbines will be located in the spire. These will be 5 meters (16 ft) high and 3 meters (10 ft) in diameter. They will produce a total of 270,000 kWh of electricity per year which will be used to light common areas, corridors, rest rooms, and basement levels.

The tower will top out 300m above the slab, and the slab there is 18m tall so the height of this tower is 318
The Genarlli tower will be here.

I really like this building. Wasn't there already a thread for this a while ago? I'm pretty sure that, if there was, it got purged long ago...

I'm liking this building more now with the new renderings and with other proposed buildings they're all going to look pretty hot together.

Does Paris really want such an incongruous peak on the horizon?
They can do so much better. This belongs in Dubai, Mecca or Las Vegas.

I agree. The building looks pretty good except for the spire. I like the top actually, but the spire looks a bit out of place/proportion.

It looks like the main spire is off-centered. I'm not sure if it's just an impression.

The spire ruins this tower IMO. Without it, I hink it would look fantastic. With it, It looks like a quenn from a chess set.

Is that important to mention? Moscow will have Europe's tallest buildings anyways.

Cool Sweet

I actually really like this skyscraper. The spire in the middle is great - it fits in perfectly with the Parisian skyline.

Since the first releases of the rendering, the design as not evolved much. I guess Valode&Pistre are still working on it.

I'm not sure how much I like that design. The top is pretty cool, but the spire seems a little uncomfortable, and I really dont like the outer facade of the building, it just seems rather dated to me.
