To be honest Moscow doesn't win my heart to much, at least not during winter... Not enough green, to much gray and dull browns... save for the last few pictures.

Anyone have late spring-early summer shots?

Staff, I never get tired of that pano of yours!

@Brad, you, sir, have some of the sickest Moscow shots around.

wow, if those two photos from bolik posted by anm were in a guess the city thread I probably would never have thought it was Moscow, if not for the skyscraper with cone steeples which i recognize.

Moscow is gonna be off the hook in 2011 - just look at those skyscrapers! Moscow really is an incredible city from many angles. A place I must get to as soon as possible.

I love this pic. Is it a park within Moscow or a wilderness area outside of it? Because if that is a park then it is an incredible one and I must say puts Central Park to shame.

Moscow is very big and full of interesting places, such as parks, mostly neglected by western visitors. Moscow parks worth attention are Botanical Garden, VDNKh, Sokolniki, Izmajlovo, Losinyj Ostrov, Kuskovo, Kuzminki, Kolomesnkoe, Tsaritsyno, Neskuchnyj Sad, and others. This one is known as Krylatskie Holmy.

These banks of Moscow river are well within city limits but much closer to the city edge than to the center. The very first pic in this thread is a panorama by Brad.

This park does not put Central Park to shame simply because they are way too different in location, complexion, sheer size, etc. A comparison with Bois de Boulogne in Paris would be more relevant IMO.

a view out of his window; not really a skyline shot, but shows the scope of construction of the skyline... those 5 story buildings buried in the trees are living their last months, the 9-story tower will probably live a few years more

a really cool thread about mass demolition of the 5-story commiblocks by Worg is here

a couple of shots

how funny, I know EXACTLY where that is; it's Chertanovskaya ulitsa, just south of Balaklavskiy prospekt. i used to live right by there and a friend lives right next to that tall building going up (it blocks her view now).

Moscow's beautiful. In a few years, it'll have an awesome skyline.

not exactly a "skyline" shot, but in a couple of years the whole span of this pic, from left to right, will be covered by towers

again, it may be a little premature to show a pic from this point now, but in 2-3 years it will be a quite different view

the whole thread by Bolik, Aug 17 2007, is here

contains a few pics of growing Moscow skyline and easy summertime living

Pics have been taken at the Victory Park on Poklonnaja Gora, a hill on the west side of Moscow. It is WWII memorial, so Coca-Cola stands fittingly remind we won it together.

the foundation pit is for new Aquarium
