This is a Parisian "tramway" (I've always been unsure how to translate this in American English):

American English would call the first one a light rail line. That's the term for anything resembling a Premetro or German Stadbahn, with trams operating at higher speeds separate from traffic either on mainline railroad on dedicated lanes on a street median. The second picture could be a light rail line or a streetcar, because a streetcar is a slower moving tram with frequent stops that operates mostly in street, either in dedicated lanes or mixed traffic.

Rosa Parks
Today, a new station opened on the RER E.
Rosa Parks station is made of a simple island platform and passengers space under the tracks.

Tram T3b

A good station for trainspotting, all the traffic of Gare de l'Est pass there.

Because of the lack of trains for the RER E, five Z 50000 trains will be added on Haussmann Saint_Lazare and Villiers sur Marne local service.

Grand Paris Express: work for Fort d'Issy-Vanves-Clamart station

Fort d'Issy-Vanves-Clamart : The station will be built at the junction of the municipalities of Issy, Vanves, Clamart and Malakoff. It will be located under the tracks and the parking of the current Clamart suburban rail station. The underground networks deviations operations are now complete: the civil work can begin.

The demolitions, a necessary step before the construction of the station

The preparatory work of 15 South line continues with the upcoming demolition of some townhouses Clos Montholon (No. 11b, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 54), on the site of the future Fort d'Issy-Vanves-Clamart station. On the other side of the tracks, the demolition of the former marchandises hall will take place at the first quarter 2016.

Once the space freed, Société du Grand Paris will begin the construction of the station from the surface.

Siemens CBTC for Paris RER Line E
10 Feb 2016

FRANCE: On February 10 SNCF announced that it had awarded Siemens France a €186m contract to supply NExTEO communications-based train control for the central section of RER Line E in Paris. According to SNCF, this is the first major contract to be placed under the €3⋅7bn project to extend Line E westwards to Mantes-la-Jolie, requiring a new 8 km tunnel between Haussmann-Saint-Lazare and Nanterre-La Folie.

To be deployed on the central section of Line E between Rosa Parks and Nanterre-La Folie, NExTEO would enable the peak service frequency to be increased from 16 to 22 trains/h, cutting headways from 180 to 108 sec and enabling trains to operate at up to 120 km/h. When the extension programme is fully completed in 2022, Line E will have a peak frequency of 28 trains/h, carrying 620 000 pass/day compared to 370 000 at present

^ Yup. My dear mom was born in les Mureaux by the time when they were building the massive cité over there. It still was a peaceful and sort of bourgeois village back then, but now we know well how bad it and Mantes seriously need an RER connection, and pray for it.

The almighty RER network is merely decisive. Forgive me for stating it, but it's far superior to the inner métro network. An extensive RER network seconded by dozens and dozens of more inexpensive light rail lines spread all over the metro area would make the most advanced of it, worldwide.

Edit: the GPX is highly strategic too, though. Frankly, the inner and older métro system is honored to have it as a so-called expansion, cause it will be way, way superior.

Châtelet
Transfer between line 4 platforms and line 14 has just reopened.
Bigger and better suited to traffic, it is not anymore narrow stairs.

Line 4 platform hall will be renovated with the automation and the construction of platform doors.

Big news ! The construction of the line 15 south has officially started last saturday.

Work in Clamart, preparing the construction

The construction south section of line 15 will have at least 9 TBMs.

There are now four subway extensions (line 4, 11, 12 and 14) and one new line (line 15 south) under construction in Paris.
Almost 50 km of new subway, something not seen since a long time and many others will follow in the near future.

Next phase of Grand Paris Express approved
06 Oct 2016

FRANCE: At its meeting on October 5, the board of Ile-de-France transport authority STIF approved the next phase of the Grand Paris Express programme, comprising 29 km of automated metro due to enter service at the end of 2023, expected to cost over €4bn to build.

As well as a 1⋅5 km extension of Line 14 from Mairie de Saint-Ouen to Saint-Denis Pleyel, STIF has given the go-ahead to build a 27 km underground route from Saint-Denis Pleyel to Noisy-Champs with eight intermediate stations. The route from Saint-Denis to Noisy will form Line 16 of the Grand Paris Express network, with the 6 km between Saint-Denis and Le Bourget RER also used by Line 17 from Mairie de Saint-Ouen to Terminal 2 at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport.
