I thought that would be the case, but it is not, as illustrated by this view:

Adrian: The buildings you just brought up belong to the most disgusting excrescences of todays pigheaded modernism.
Just awful 68-brainwashed ideologist junk.

I hope you just posted them in the wrong thread and they were supposed to appear in some "ugly buildings" thread.

True. One theory is these architects are trying to see how far they can go before the public finally gets the joke and calls BS on them.

Am I the only person who would be tempted to fill one of these ultramodern apartments with frilly knick-knacks and granny antiques just because I know it would enrage the architects?

...what's terrifying, is that you're not trolling; you're serious. if i post a picture of a heavily decorated neoclassical civic building, will the rapture of its beauty be enough to distract you for a while? the rest of the people here are trying to have a serious discussion.

Wow, worst post of the year. A lot of these buildings look great. Even though I don't like all modern buildings it also doesn't mean I hate them. Some of the buildings in this page are really really nice. Specially The Landmark, the one in NY by Koolhas and the one in Madrid. Those are some of the tightest designs I've seen in a while. Plus it's not just Adrian posting pictures/renders of modern architecture.

I don't mind quite a bit of what I've seen in this thread, but that last one (post #550) looks like someone vomited on an otherwise normal building.

OK here's Frank Gehry's latest and biggest project and a definite masterpiece of modern architecture.

It will be built in Lehi, Utah, on 85 acres. It will contain a Lake, a 450-ft 5-star hotel, with 1 million SQFT of retail, 2,500 residential units. It will be LEED certified, powered by wind/solar/geothermal energy, and act as the southern gateway to Salt Lake City, and it's called....

THE POINT
