Great shots! You can barely tell there's a setback on that all-glass low-rise portion on the corner. I wonder if they'll have trees along the terrace there to denote that from the street.

this might replace Nema as my favorite building this cycle!

1. NEMA
2. Vista
3. OCS (quickly rising)

Sigh.... love watching this rise. If only there weren't a pandemic, we could come to the city and spend the entire day there, enjoy walking around this construction site.

But alas, wife not ready for that yet...

It grew by about 7 floors from last month. We will probably see it peeking out in the NW view of the skyline in about 2 months

^Impressive progress!

Still hoping for a surprise height increase, although having the 6th highest roof in Chicago is not too shabby.

We need more buildings like this around river north and streeterville... the architecture is great and different than what we have been used to ... the problem is Reilly...basically for every one sizeable tall tower he allows he shoots down five others to satisfy the Nimby's.

^The cost of Reilly's payout is probably why this beauty won't be breaking 1,000 feet.

TUP you should still take her down there and just stay in your car. It's worth it.

This project is in Brian Hopkins ward, not Reilly's.

^^Not an improvement, frankly.

Related to One Chicago, but JDL's website shows conflicting designs for the west facade:

This one shows the straight, one level balcony, but this below:

Shows the staggered, stair step facade. Both are from their website. Which is accurate?

^Yup..Hopkins does seem a bit more reasonable with regards to height and nimby pandering to a degree than Reilly

The answer is neither. If I'm correct this is the most up-to-date rendering which includes balconies (for the condos). HPA's website seems to have all of the newest renderings.

The balconies look awful in that rendering. I hope the final product looks a little more subtle. They really interrupt the verticality of the design.

^ We discussed the balconies a few months back. The consensus was that given the fact that balconies sell, and sales is why this building exists, the particular design for the balconies is our best case scenario.

Gotta say, as much as I admire this buildings design, that all flush glass portion is rather lame. Such a cop out. Maybe it will be less unimpressive when the entirety around it is completed.

This is already looking fantastic, ten times better than that ugly vista tower.
