I sure wish there were Cleveland forumers, I never know whats going on in Cleveland even though its only two hours away; anyways; heres a couple crap iPhone photos from yesterday.

Think this is the Luman, not sure how tall its going to get. This is in Playhouse Square downtown.

This is pretty awesome, an entire block basically of historic buildings is being restored.

Most of the Clevelanders are over here:

https://forum.urbanohio.com/forum/24...-construction/

Wish they’d come here more often to show Cleveland a little love for everyone else in other cities.

Unfortunately, the folks running things at SSP waited too long to fix the absurd amount of ads and redirects and it turned a lot of people off, myself included. If someone would like to do a 'Cleveland 2.0' thread, I'm all for it. I put a lot of effort and time into this place over the past 20+ years but I'm happy to pass the baton.

I barely have time to get out to take photos for updates, much less deal with things that should have been fixed a long time ago. Over at UrbanOhio's forum, things get resolved or at least addressed almost immediately, so that's where I put my energy (along with my Instagram account).

Boy, I didn't realize how dead this Cleveland Thread has become. Sadly, there are many threads like this on SSP right now, especially in much of the Midwest, where interest has just seemingly evaporated. I'm too focused on Michigan regional updates to be the leader in a Cleveland Development Thread rebirth. But if anyone else wanted to take it on, I'd contribute.

This came across my feeds recently - Waterford Bluffs is u/c (actually broke ground in December 2020) -

Construction begins on five-story, 240-unit apartment building near Cleveland’s West Side Market
Eric Heisig | cleveland.com
January 13, 2021

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Construction is underway for a $65 million apartment building near the West Side Market that will add 241 apartments to the city of Cleveland. Workers with Marous Brothers Construction broke ground last month for Waterford Bluffs, a building that will sit on a 75-foot high bluff at the western end of the Hope Memorial Bridge at Lorain Avenue and West 20th Street in the Duck Island area of Cleveland, according to a news release sent Wednesday by Stoneleigh Cos. The suburban Chicago-based developer aims to finish the building by late next year...

I kid. While this design and materials used have become run-of-the-mill for low-rise, urban apartment buildings, it's still good to see more residential development in the city of Cleveland.

For sure. A product of their time, all of them. Where tight schedules, tighter budgets, ROI's, and "kits-of-parts", grad-school, regurgitated, slapdash design prevail.
