The photo page on the Nova Scotia TCH Highway 104 Twinning website has been updated to show this years progress with a lot of paving complete. The plan is to shift two-way traffic over to the new twinned lanes this November between Sutherlands River and Barneys River Station and between James River (Pushie Rd) and Antigonish......then rebuild bridges and rehabilitate the existing lanes over the next two years.

The entirely new 11 km 4-lane bypass alignment of Marshy Hope between Barneys River and Pushie Road will still be under construction until the fully completed 38km highway opens in 2023.

Photos here......

1hr long infosession on the Kicking Horse Phase 4 project. Discusses all the bridges/cuts going into making the highway happen,

One interesting thing, this project will create a rock cut similar to the one east of Park Bridge... @21:00.

"Training will run from March 2021 to July 2023."

Sounds like construction won't happen till at least 2023.

I’m hoping that canning the training will be such bad optics that this project will survive the provincial election.

The training does not mean that the widening will happen. They can keep the training and postpone the widening project and not loose much political capital.

A couple flyover videos of the two most recent highway 1 twinning projects to move forward.

First is Ford to Tappen Road:

And the RW Bruhn Bridge:

I just found out that, 2 days ago, the twinning between the 2 national parks (Revelstoke and another one) is now done.

Updated. I think I missed some non-divided sections of Highway 1 in BC, does anyone have any better information (than grainy satellite images) of those sections?

Have you gotten the section between Sorrento and Tappen?
Then there’s a small section from west of Donald to Forde Station road.

My map shows a Blind River - Tappen section, and I have the Donald to Forde Station section.

It seems that it's 4-laned through Revelstoke on Google, is it actually?

Only for a very short section, though

There is about a 12km section of 4-laned TCH east of Sicamous that doesn’t appear to be blue on your map DN. Roughly from Cambie to Malakwa (moving from west to east). Sorry I can’t be more specific but you can see it when zoomed in on Maps.
Thanks for taking on a massive task BTW.

Great map! What’s the qualifier for blue roads in Ontario? Because if it’s just 4 lanes like it appears from highway 10 being included, there are a bunch of missing rural 4 lane highways. Roads like Stouffville Road, Highway 6 to Caledonia, highway 9 from Newmarket to the 400, highway 90 to Angus, veterans memorial parkway in London, highway 60 out of Huntsville, 62 north of Belleville, 7 east of Peterborough, etc.

Also the 4-lane part of highway 10 actually ends north of Orangeville before reaching Highway 89!

Belles photos!
