Percentage of native born residents in your city?

What's the percentage of native born residents in your city or town?

Native to the city proper, or the metro area in general?

In chicago, that distinction really matters to some people.

I don't know if this kind of stat is reliably tracked anywhere.

Very very small percentage. Mostly carpet bagger yankees, foreigners and a bunch of wayward Californians. A few native Texans here and there.

It could be either. If you don't know you could always add your own observations of your city.

My town in the Killeen Tx area is about 75% native born but that'll change once the overflow from Austin starts to pour in.

Well as a 6th generation chicagoan, I'd say chicago has a rather high percentage of native born , but that's probably just my biased eyes deceiving me. Chicago is probably fairly average in this regard.

Doing some rough calculations, if I look at my group of friends/neighbors, I'd say ~50% are city/metro born, another 25% are originally from one of the surrounding Midwest states (WI, MI, IN, IL, IA, MO, OH) and the final 25% are from further afield in the US/international immigrants.

That said, our block has an unusually high number of families with kids the same ages as our kids with parents originally from Bos-Wash, but that's probably just a weird statistical anomaly.

In London it's 63% native UK born, of which about a third are non-White British.

In short about 41% of the city is native White British (though bear in mind a large proportion of the minorities are White/ Middle Eastern with Brit accents so it's not so obvious).

Eg: Iraqi Brits:

The boroughs with the highest amounts of foreign born includes one that's the poorest, Newham and the rest being the richest - Brent, Westminster, Harrow, Kensington and Chelsea

It's rare to find any native-born throughout the State of Arizona outside of the Reservations.

My family and I definitely aren't (moved from Ohio) and in middle school, I was the new kid for about a week before someone else new arrived from another state (thank god, because I would've beat me up and picked on me for being a massive dweeb).
