It is ironic that you should say that because as I commented on SkyscraperCity, the alley ways of South Beach are what remind me the most of San Francisco.

This is what I'm tryng to tell people! If you haven't been here recently, it is not the Miami you think it is! Never mind what the real estate market or the housing market is doing right now! All of a sudden, out of nowhere, Atlantis has risen again!

Thanks, Rwarky! I don't think we're done yet though. We just have to wait for the dust to settle from this most recent "boom." It was pretty big and over speculated, and yes the city is currently overbuilt because so many speculators forfeited their deposits rather than buying when the market hit the ceiling, but with the euro still pretty strong against the U.S. dollar, I think between now and November is the best time for foreign investors to buy. What this Miami forumer said a while back on SkyscraperCity does give me hope for seeing more approved projects get out of the ground in the future.

"Since I'm involved in the south florida consulting world I sometimes come across some projects that are of interest to this forum. Let me just add that a lot of developers are getting ready for the 2010-2012 seasons, so don't assume that the construction will stop like a lot of people seem to be predicting."

It would appear that interest in developing Miami further in the future is still strong in spite of what the market is doing right now, so we shall see what else is in store for us further down the road. It simply might be that we just have to wait a little longer for some of our more interesting projects to get out of the ground.

Man, I love relooking at these pics!! I love the ultra modern skyscrapers!!! It reminds me of looking at the Honolulu skyline. Miami has lots more mass to it though. There's something about a tropical skyline with it's water, palms and modern glass mass! Keep the pics coming!!
PS. Hopefully your beach scenes sweetened up some of the anti modern posters! It sure made for even better viewing! LOL....

Thanks, man! Anti-modern is an interesting way to put it because I think a lot of it is just a matter of what somebody is used to seeing. Seeing these builldings up close on almost a daily basis, to me, they have all sorts of different and interesting designs, shapes, and colors, and I've studied skyscraper architecture and history for well over 30 years. I don't like all of them myself, and some designs are better than others, but I don't see how somebody can say something like Freedom Tower is the only remotely interesting building in the entire skyline.
