Beautiful area. I was there in 2018 on the Iceline Trail. Lovely weather and beautiful views. I wish I had time to go further on the Iceline Trail to a hut that is further up the trail.

Isn't that the one that you can see from Hwy 1? We just drove by it.

The neighbourhood I grew up in has a pretty cool waterfall. It used to take a while to get to, but as the neighbourhood grew, it inched closer and closer to Crawford Falls. What would take 45 minutes of walking and hiking, you can now do it in 10 minutes.

I spent a lot of time around these falls as a bored suburban kid.

Crawford Falls, Kelowna

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Montmorency Falls near Quebec City yet.

Niagara Falls is spectacular, especially in terms of the sheer volume of water falling over the cascade, but, pound for pound, I think I prefer Montmorency Falls.

Montmorency has it all. It is actually a little taller than Niagara, and is well served by the cable car to the top, the bridge over the brink and the staircase down the cliff face to the east of the falls. Overall, it is an excellent experience!

I used to camp a lot at Nairn Falls, just south of Pemberton, BC

I even went swimming in the extremely cold Green river, which flows over the falls.

Here are a few of Ottawa's urban waterfalls:

Rideau Falls around Green Island. There are two set of falls on each side of the Island, though the east falls are better known and more accessible.

Dams were built in the 1800s to manage water levels.

The falls are also home to Tavern on the Falls.

Downtown, at the Zibi site between Ottawa and Hull, are the Chaudère Falls. The area has a long history, from their importance to the First Nations, to the forestry industry's take-over, they've become publicly accessible for the first time in 200 years during Canada's 150.

Hydroelectricity has been produced at the Chaudère Falls since 1891. Hydro Ottawa owns the entire operation, including the Québec side, and continues to invest to improve the site, both for power and for the public.

What? Rideau Falls is illuminated at night. Now, that is a well kept secret.

Those falls are about 7 or 8 km from Highway 1 north of Field and there isn't a clear line of sight to the highway from the falls from what I recall. It must have been another waterfall you saw.

Apparently, it is joint project between the NCC and the Tavern on the Falls and it must have started very recently.

I also had no idea. That picture is what inspired me to start this thread.

Not the most impressive falls but one of the best names in Canada.

Raggedy Ass Falls in New Brunswick.

A few I've seen recently: Hogg's Falls and Cooper's Falls: both off fantastic nearly empty roads.
