As mentioned in several of the articles, Homeaway already occupies a full building in the Domain - the 5-story, 124,000 square foot Domain 1, which I'm sure they will vacate. This is technically an expansion, albeit a big one.

Homeaway was one of the first large companies in Austin to embrace the multiple-location platform to benefit employees. They have offices at Penn Field on South Congress, Research Park Plaza on Hwy 183, Downtown at West Elm and of course their biggest location at Domain 1. They let their employees choose which office to work at in order to accommodate their commute. More big companies need to embrace that idea, especially in cities like Austin where traffic is such an issue.

Homeaway was a home-grown company, but now its just a subsidiary of Expedia. I don't blame founders for selling out for millions (or billions in Whole Foods' case) but the corporate culture always changes when a company becomes part of a conglomerate. Hopefully they will continue to keep their downtown location but over time big corporations creep toward consolidation as a matter of cost.

No. That has remained the site of one of the biggest unfulfilled dream projects in Austin. That's surprising since Endeavor owns it.

Bummer. Hopefully something big is in the works behind closed doors...what a great site for something.

W.5th and Guadalupe St right in front of Republic Square Park. It's an old 2 story white building with a single story parking garage adjacent to it, you can't miss it.

No portion of the post office block is within a cvc. The project was a two block project with a second tower across the street that I believe was within a cvc. I actually forget the exact location of the 2nd block, but it was across the street. One was stated to be 40 floors and 550 feet, while the other was planned as 37 floors and 480 feet.

This was the shorter tower. The project was being planned by Novare, which is the same group that developed 360 Condos.

Here's the map. You can see that the block isn't inside a cvc.

Here are some shots of West Campus. I didn't take very good notes of the locations while I was shooting - rookie mistake - so the descriptions are a bit vague. I'm not very familiar with the West Campus construction, so I apologize.

Several people have asked me for full resolution copies of the photos I posted previously. I have uploaded the full resolution versions to imgur and will include the link to the particular album in each post. There are many more photos in this album than I posted here. Full resolution imgur album for West Campus: http://imgur.com/a/DAwgr

Not sure what this is, but that curved street is Lamar

Two under construction projects (center and upper left). The horizontal street is MLK

The verticle street on the left is 24th

Near the Castillion

I didn't see a separate thread for The Triangle. Here are some shots from this morning. The apartments that are under construction are called Villages at the Triangle. They are luxury senior housing and their website is here: http://w2rep.com/portfolio_page/thev...riangleavenue/ The full resolution versions of these photos are located in this imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/H50Cp Hazy morning. Can't control the weather unfortunately.

Sweet. Those show off just how dense West Campus and UT are and how much more dense West Campus can become. I would imagine that eventually most of those large apartment complexes will be torn down for more high rises. Everything happening in downtown is exciting and all, but I've been watching West Campus grow with great amusement.

That brings back memories. I thought the second Novare tower was going to be a sure thing when they announced how quickly 360 sold out. Just like most of their buildings resemble each other, this one has the same cheese grater balconies as the 360. But I still wished they built it as planned. Now I hope if they do build a tall tower in that spot, it looks totally different just for our need for more variety.

Based on recent activity, I think there is a good chance that the following site plans get approved in the near future:

The Avenue
Marriott @ Cesar Chavez
The Huston
2100 Nueces
3rd & Colorado
Town Lake Lofts/a.k.a. East Ave. Apartments
Waterloo Park Tower/Hotel Maribeau

425 Riverside is also moving along pretty quickly. But since that project is a P.U.D. it will eventually need City Council approval. So there's no telling how that will go. Stay tuned.

That thing is the bane of my existence. I drive past it every day on my way to work. It's like this weird negative space eyesore. It belongs in some other city completely.

Anyone noticed the crane is gone from the Fairmont.........also it appears another "pipe" has been added to the spire.
