Absolutely incredible! Never thought I'd live to see something this massive going up in NorCal. I keep expecting to wake up or the tower to get destroyed and then never rebuilt again. But it looks like it will be a reality!

Looks like heavy work on the crown framing today. I'm not in SF so I don't know--I can see the sky is blue on the cams but I assume the wind isn't bad so they can work. Doubt they can finish it today, but just another couple of decent days and she WILL be topped off. I suspect they are definitely trying to get it done by the end of the month.

I'm in SF for work, looking out the window right now at SF Tower. This thing is beautiful! And coming back across the bay from Oakland, the skyline is truly amazing.

Can we get someone who might be walking by the area, to get some pictures of the garage floor excavation?

You can see the crown from the inner Richmond, Clement and 6th Ave., an amazing sight.

The first two rings are lit tonight by what appear to be walkway lights, though it's difficult to see without binoculars because of the brighter work lights above and below. It seems that all four rings (including the very top) may be part of the lighting feature. We have much to look forward to!

Almost time for S.F.’s Salesforce Tower to hit the top
John King, San Francisco Chronicle

Quote:
If you’ve been wondering when San Francisco’s Salesforce Tower would finally stop climbing higher and higher into the sky, the answer is — soon.

The last steel beam will be maneuvered into place atop the 1,070-foot high-rise on April 6, developers Boston Properties and Hines revealed Friday. The high point will come four years after the ceremonial groundbreaking in March 2013, but barely a year since the first steel appeared above-ground last March...

Salesforce has leased more than half the space in the 1.4 million-square-foot building; most of it is on the lower floors, but the 60th and 61st stories will serve as a sort of sky-high company lounge for the software giant’s employees, customers and guests...

The schedule calls for the tower to be completed in July, according to marketing director Helen Han of Boston Properties. Employees of Salesforce and other firms that are leasing space could be going to work at 101 First St. before Thanksgiving.

In Chicago or New York City, Salesforce Tower would be lost in the crowd. Not in San Francisco. The newcomer stands more than 200 feet above the Transamerica Pyramid, the tallest office building here from 1972 until last fall.
Should have been 1200 ft

We just have to wait for San Francisco without Sue Hestor.

He seems rarely satisfied.

Now that I see it nearly complete, it has occurred to me that its proportions compared to the rest of the skyline look "right" and that, perhaps, at 1200' it might have looked out of place or "not quite right". Can't decide if I'm just adapting to what must be or not, but that thought has occurred.

The "Ignore" button is brilliant. You don't have to put up with trolls or stick-up-their-ass blowhards.
