The next port of call was St. John's, NL. I was honestly surprised by the urbanity, the history, the gorgeous harbor, and the beautiful countryside. I will definitely try to come back here for a longer vacation.

Cabot Tower. Construction was begun in 1898 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's arrival in Newfoundland, as well as Queen Victoria's 60th year of rule. The hill it sits on is called Signal Hill, and Cabot Tower was used for signalling ships. Guglielmo Marconi also received the first transatlantic wireless signal on Signal Hill.
