Great pictures. I was going to comment on how even these mansions have that Hamilton red and orange and brown brick, but there are some nice different styles later on in the thread.
The colour of the brick depends on the clay used to make the bricks. Hamilton is very bright orange but the brick has a really light yellowish colour a little west of Hamilton, in through London and a bit west of there and north toward Kitchener-Waterloo.

Holy shit @ the first house!! Amazing. So who lives in these larger homes now that industry has dwindled? What are the best jobs now in Hamilton?
I'm not sure who lives in these houses. There seem to be plenty of wealthy areas around Hamilton. I'd imagine there are plenty of university and hospital administrators plus there are quite a lot of head offices in the corridor between Hamilton and Toronto. Most of the old mansions were of course built by the owners of the factories that used to be locally owned.
