Very nice. Already up to the 1st floor, working on the 2nd. That's some very nice progress considering the crane just went up a little more than a month ago.

According to SAguy's post in the Vidorra thread in the Texas section:

The Vidorra will be equipped with a private fitness center, two swimming pools, a spa room, business center, private clubroom, rooftop garden, guest suites, full-time concierge service and other amenities. Units will average about $450,000. Tower one is more than 50 percent sold. Once tower one is 75 percent sold, tower two will begin.

Construction completion for tower one: End of 2008
Anyone have that article handy? The article is from August 10th of this year. I tried searching for it at mySA.com. I found it, but I'm not registered with the newspaper, so maybe one of you guys from San Antonio could post it? Just type in vidorra in the 'MySA keyword' search field. That will pull it up.

It funny how Vidorra seems to be ahead of Vistana when Vistana started construction way before Vidorra. Also, did Vidorra go through a name change?

Thats because they had to demo a small bank that was on the Vistana site.

Not nearly as cool as the original, but it's certainly OK.

Why couldn't they have added just 5 more floors to this project. It would have greatly improved design. And why build 2, instead of building one huge tower. Oh well, complaining isn't going to do any good. Thanks, historic design committe

Because they may never build the second tower. They've been saying they are just over 50% sold for over a year. Remember, they supposedly broke ground last December and at that point they were supposed to be 60% sold.

It's not the HDRC, it's demand for that kind of housing. If there was enough demand someone would build to meet it.
