City Signs Off On Embassy Suites/Home 2 Hotel In Brickell

Quote:
Approval to build a combination Embassy Suites and Home 2 hotel in Brickell was granted by Miami’s Planning & Zoning Department on May 22.

The project includes 211 Embassy Suites keys and 142 Home 2 keys, for a total of 353 keys.

In order to approve the project, a waiver for reduced parking of 161 spaces was necessary. 177 spaces are normally needed for a hotel of this size under Miami 21, but a 30 percent reduction can be granted when in proximity to transit.

FAA APPROVES 30-STORY BRICKELL HOTEL THAT WILL HAVE TWO HILTON BRANDS

Quote:
The Federal Aviation Administration has granted approval for a new Brickell hotel to be built.

The 30-story hotel will have a roof height of 340 feet above ground, and a highest point of 380 feet above ground.

There will be two hotel brands in the same building, both managed by Hilton.

Embassy Suites will be on the upper levels with a two-level sky lobby at the top of the building. Home 2 will take the lower floors.

In total, 358 keys are planned.

A construction permit was applied for in 2018 and is now almost fully approved, although the Zoning department rejected it last month.

The proposal was submitted for UDRB review in 2017. A utilities agreement was signed with the county in 2018, and a tree permit was obtained from the city in November 2019.
