I'm so scared of heights I probably couldn't do this. Maybe get close to the glass...

When I went to the Willis Tower, I was secretly freaking out on the Ledge. However, I'm really good at looking perfectly calm when I'm not, so no one knew. It seems I'll be doing it again, only not as high up and in NYC.

And the next time I go to New York, I gotta to to Vessel. It looks really cool.

Yeah I was thinking about starting a side business. Giving folks with acrophobia tours with the aim of therapy. Its a 3 step program. Step 1: Go to the Vessel. Step 2: Top of the Rock. Step 3: Forcefully plaster face on the glass at the 30 Hudson obs deck, and than do some jump rope exercises while standing on the glass.

I think after all of these steps, one should be in better shape, and ready to take the decks of 1 Vandy and the future deck at Tower Fifth.

If one is cured of such fears, they can write a check to the order of Dr.Chris, who will than give them a certificate of authenticity, and a used New York Halal hot dog sold via the street cart at the corner of 34th and 6th Ave.

I'll also make them sign a contract not to report me to the boards for practicing street medicine.

Hay @...Guy why won't it(1Vandy) hold it for long.
The only thing taller would be Central Park tower, I'm I correct.

Nevermind, I found the answer http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...98228&page=148. I THINK!

I think he meant... 30 Hudson Yards won't hold the tallest title for long as 1 Vanderbilt is soon to top it.

Tower 5th is also set to have a deck, which will trounce all of the current or planned ones including Vandy and 30 HY. Even taller than 1 WTC deck wise and by an amazing, whopping extra 1 foot or 12 inches, the 2nd tallest tower in the city. Could be 5 ft taller depending on the source, but not 100% clear cut. CPT being 3rd.

So Manhattan is getting four new observation decks: Tower Fifth, HY, 1 Vandy and Chrysler. Not bad.

Yeah, 30 Hudson currently has that title, but will lose it in a few months.

Not bad at all. I can envision a day where I try to do all of the decks.... It would be an insane day.

Actually, if we're not counting Observation Deck height, 111 w 57th would be second @ 1430', then 1 Vandy. Both coming after CPT.

Yes, but I think he was talking Office Towers only in Midtown.

Yes, only the Freedom Tower is taller than both in all of New York. 30 Hudson is currently the second tallest office tower in the city, but will be passed by One Vanderbilt in a few months, pushing it back to number 3.

Top of the Rock is my fave, with One WTC coming in at a very close second. If One WTC had an outdoor deck, it would be tied, but I understand why that didn't work out.
