It was just a joke. I actually think Fort Worth has a beautiful downtown streetscape.

Although, I have to say, it looks about busy as downtown Austin on a quarantine early Sunday morning, (just according to that streetview link).

Judging from the shadows and lack of auto traffic, I am guessing the google-mobile made a pass through in the early morning hours on a spring or summer weekend. Things do pick up a bit as the day progresses, and there is a good bit of night-time activity usually.

That's a nice perspective. On an observation, a coat of paint or murals would make the cooling tower less of an eyesore.

What are we gonna call it 10 years from now? Sssuuh?

Honestly, no one knew that it was called Lincoln Shopping Center in the first place.

Yeah, had no idea over here. I do know there's an almost identical version of LincOLN in SA that I used to go to growing up. Guessing it's the same architect/developer

And 300 Colorado. That's 8 new towers slated for that view.

^^ You can already see the impact Alexan Capitol

Indeed is filling in nicely but what I'm most excited for in this angle is the Google Sail building, Natiivo and 44 East.

A drone shot from around Rainey will make the skyline look more dense

anyone ever notice how many rarely used baseball fields are along LBL from Austin High to Longhorn Dam? I heard a long time ago it was something like 12. If that is true, seems like a huge waste. Keep it park land, but 12 is overkill for a game/sport Austinites are not known for.

thoughts?

those under-used baseball fields next to Zach Theater was the original proposed location of the MLS stadium until the zilker nimby's killed it.

The baseball fields closest to Austin High are controlled by the West Austin Youth Association and the YMCA in an arrangement with the city. The area has been designated as Lamar Beach in recent years and there are (were) plans to renovate and improve the area leaving most ball fields mostly intact. The link dates from 2016. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/aust...ts/1049774034/
