Are you big on Little Rock?

We don't give enough publicity for my home state on here, so I thought I get more going. For those of you that have been to Little Rock, what did you think? The city is growing at a steady rate, and handling the growth pretty well. Each time I go home, I'm more impressed by growth in and around the River Market District. Some of these are from me, and some are from google searches. Enjoy!

that first shot is great. the scenery outside of little rock is so much more dramatic than i expected for central arkansas. what is that big, industrial-type area immediately below downtown in the first picture? looks like its in a prime location to be razed and re-developed into an urban neighborhood

Nice. I love the topography. Looks like there's a couple of big hills/mountains back there.

That is the state capitol, (with the dome). The caption for the high school is below the high school picture, not above it. I'd wish they built high schools like that.

Abilene's old Abilene high school building looks like Central High and sadly it's being closed and going to be abandon

Central high and Dunbar (the historical school for Negroes) are both still in use as High Schools in Little Rock. North Little Rock High is equally as impressive.

The mountains are awesome and the library is awesome. Great setting, Little Rock has.

oh little rock. i haven't been there for a couple years. but when i am in town my family (in north little rock) take me all over the place. it is a great little city.

Never been to Little Rock, and have never really thought anything bad or good about it.

Anyway its green for sure, but I kind of hate all of the parking lots and parking garages. The 2nd picture witht he street car I'm totally in love with it.

Although I have one question for you.
Is that one bridge still in use? It looks as if it raises up for tall vessels passing though, but I can't see where there is any rode it connects to on one side.

That is actually the city of North Little Rock, and an industrial district there. So far, the palns for that area are for a new stadium/ballpark for the Arkansas Travelers.

Actually it is of Little Rock, taken facing west from east of I-30. The photo was taken before the baseball stadium in NLR was completed, but now it sits where the grassy area to the right of the Broadway bridge in the middle of the picture.
