Great photos. The towers may be sparse but they're nicer than the ones we get in Vancouver. I'd love more buildings like this

LMich, thanks. I've been on flickr and this site for how long now, and I still didn't know you could do that.

SHiRO, I was surprised to learn that when I was there. Most people I spoke to in JKT pin their metro area at around 30 million people.

Dr Awesomesauce, I'm not sure how it compares to BKK or Manila as I've never been to either city. I'm pretty sure it's a lot safer than Manila though.

Pinion, that building is my favourite in Jakarta by far. I wish I could have captured every angle of it. Such a cool-looking building.

Thanks for the respect, guys.

A remainder of the old Batavia (like Jakarta was called during the Dutch rule). My late father went there for military service (navy). He returned there about 15 years ago. Except for a few things, he didn't recognize anything in this city anymore.

Thanks for sharing these nice photos.

Brilliance, son.

Jakarta's not an easy town to photomagraph, much less present in an artistic manner. You capture it effortlessly.

Just imagine, if you'd give the same treatment to podunk, inbred, peckerwood, hellhole USA, you'd have 5 pages of comments by now. It's never too late to quit being so damn un-American. Go with Christ, brah.

Very interesting, exciting city! Strange that so many people says that there are nothing to see there and only go to the beaches.

Nice pics! Haven't seen much of Jakarta on SSP. Looks a lot like KL.

Missed this the first time around. Glad it got bumped. Jakarta wasn't my favorite developing metropolis. I seem to remember being stuck in traffic most of the time. Great set!
