Pittsburgh December 2018

I went to Pittsburgh for a few days on a whim this past week. Never been before and was duly impressed. Ate well, drank well, saw a lot and felt like there's still much more to see.

The below photos are from downtown, Deutschtown, the Duquesne and Monongahela inclines, Lawrenceville, East Liberty, Shadyside and Oakland. It's a good mix of grandeur and grit; historic and newly developed; rust belt remnants and new tech city.

Nice pics and thanks for the tour; also neat to view the interior of an incline car/lift and a station.

Great thread! Love Pitt. Considering a move there at some point for a change of scenery.

Awesome set. I am hoping to get there this June and of all cities in the US, this one intrigues me most at the moment.

Niiiiiiiice. This is one of the few American cities I haven't gotten to explore yet that I really want to get to. So much architectural goodness on display!

Pittsburgh, like all of the “Rust Belt” cities has beautiful, old buildings. For example, Buffalo, Cleveland, Milwaukee, etc all have stunning architecture.

Haha, the one with the parking chair and the house behind it with the terrible re-muddled front windows is so classic old-school Pittsburgh. The houses on either side are the exact same original style, yet loook a million times better because they were kept that way. That's a really aggressive use of the parking chair too, with no snow around. Do any cities other than Pittsburgh and Philly do the parking chairs?
