Never lost power (or internet) at my house. It looked like power was back up for nearly all of Orleans and Jefferson as of this morning, so that's about 24 hours of work assuming crews weren't really able to get out there until yesterday morning after wind gusts had died down. Not a bad timeline at all.

Guess I'm an outlier here, but I don't hate that Courtyard design. I see what people are saying about how the setback is unnecessary and would be fine if it were two stories to the edge of the property. But I kind of like the design and think it's funky in a good way.

Agreed! If the alternative is that fugly Hampton Inn down the street, I'll take this one.

Thanks for the constant updates Slimm. Overall, the place looks great. I forgot to ask you weeks ago will the exterior have fountains outside?

The original fountains hardly ever worked and when they partially did, there was often homeless bathing in it. I havent seen any renderings with a fountain, with the new hotel, its pushed out so far to canal/convention center, there really isnt any space for it. Id say No

How tall would Nola Bywater hotel next to Rusty Rainbow be? A new report cries foul

https://www.nola.com/news/business/r...rce=featured-2

The developers behind a hotel being proposed for a lot next to the Rusty Rainbow footbridge should not be granted a waiver from the City Council allowing them to bypass height restrictions and make the building one of the tallest along the Bywater riverfront, according to a report from the City Planning Commission.

Developers David Fuselier and Jacob Schoen are asking City Hall to let them build the Crescent Hotel, as the project would be called, to a height of 79 feet, which is above the 75-foot limit in effect when they applied to do the project in 2019. Since then, a new rules have lowered the maximum height for buildings in that area to 55 feet.

What happens if the height limit was lowered after the application was accepted?
