Private Garden in México Accommodating Four Wooden Houses

Valle de Bravo, México, is the home of an amazing project that consists of a beautiful complex of four houses, all located in the intimacy of a beautiful private garden. An exquisite display of natural wood, used in defining the structures and the interior, enhance the feeling of belonging right in the middle of the staggering natural landscape. The project, called Chipicas Town Houses, was developed by the Mexican based studio, Alejandro Sanchez Garcia Arquitectos. The vertical stripes offer a unique exotic look, making room for a breezy and zen atmosphere. Floor to ceiling windows offer unique perspectives upon the site. The interiors are really modern and clean, keeping a fresh and updated look. The bedrooms are upstairs and the view is nothing but stunning, giving you the feeling that you are inhaling the woods.

Hut on Sleds sits on the shore of a white sandy beach in New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula, blending into the landscape. The hut measures a mere 40 square metres and rests on two thick wooden sleds that allow it to be shifted around the beach front section. This innovative portability is a response to the ever changing landscape that line the beachfront in this coastal erosion zone.

Sforza Seilern Architects completed their first African project atop Gota dam

The house is situated atop a granite rock overlooking a large man-made dam. The location creates an awe-inspiring peice of architecture. The views and the drama of the granite cliff plunging into the dam were the inspiration for the concept, where oversized cantilevered roofs and extensive terraces frame the views and shelter from the vertical African sun.

300 Year Old Farmhouse Elegantly Converted Into Modern Living Space

Having been almost burnt to the ground several years ago, this 300-year-old farmhouse (situated close to the town of Treia in the Le Marche region of Italy) has been completely reformed and rebuilt. The extensive, four-year renovation project entitled Casa Olivi was undertaken by the Swiss architects Markus Wespi and Jérôme de Meuron and, as the building is protected by the Italian Cultural and History Administration, the outside has been meticulously preserved while the inside has been remodeled and proffers a minimalist and airy interior.

witherford watson mann architects: astley castle renovation

astley castle originally served as the royal family's fortified manor for three generations before being turned into a hotel in world war 2. after years of abandon, it became a ruined curiosity for those who knew of its location, serving as an unofficial impromptu venue for a range of activities until the landmark trust - a building preservation charity - proposed to restore the structure. they hosted a competition inviting architects to submit their ideas for the renovation of the residence and accompanying mote, entry gateway, curtain walls, lake, church, and vestiges of elizabethan pleasure gardens. london-based witherford watson mann architects were chosen to carry out the project, breathing a new life into the ancient construction. the design tackled big questions regarding renovations, especially given a project of this scale: what will the relationship be between the old and new, and how can the new structure fortify the collapsing edifice?

Gorgeous Optical Glass House in Hiroshima is Made From 6000 Glass Bricks

The high rises of downtown Hiroshima conceal an unexpected architectural gem that offers an oasis of calm amidst the big city bustle. Architecture studio Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP designed the Optical Glass House to shelter its residents from the acoustic and visual debris of the city streets. The dream-like space of shimmering reflections and flashing tree leaves is contained within a 13-ton façade made from 6,000 glass bricks.
