NASHVILLE | Alcove (900 Church Street) | 418 FT | 34 FLOORS

The man that helped bring residential back downtown, is one of the biggest players in the city core redevelopment and boom, and mark maker on the skyline is proposing one of the more impressive high-rise proposals in the city. 900 Church will be on the street that his legacy has really been built on, literally. Just a few blocks west of The Cumberland, Viridian, & 505, this will add to his portfolio and legacy.

The current site is a single story office building housing administrative offices for the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and located a block east of the Amazon towers site at 1000 Church Street.

That’s an awesome (albeit quirky) design.

I think the problem with A LOT of high rise development in the United States is that it lacks inspiration, is just ordinary and doesn’t get people talking. I love this proposal.

Congratulations Nashville.

Demo of the old YMCA building is complete and debris removal is mostly done.

Additional renderings were released about 2 weeks ago.

Looking from the east. New Amazon tower is in the background.

Rooftop amenities deck, looking from the west.

I guess by 'making reservations, you are thinking it's going to be a hotel. It's going to be an apartment building.

There is a rather nice hotel proposed about a block away.

Also, the 'Live at Nashville Yards' entertainment district will have a 21 story, Park MGM Hotel just a block away, which is under construction (excavation) now.

Edit; Oops, wrong topic. Enjoy the pictures anyway.

Mystery in Nashville Construction

There is a lot at 11th and Broadway that appears cleared for construction, yet I can't find record of anything being constructed there. Help???

I'm not entirely sure, but you may be referring to the site of the old headquarters of The Tennessean, which I believe was demolished and cleared for future development, but in the short term will just be a parking lot.

Nice! Nashville appears to have pulled ahead of Charlotte for the Second City of the South (east of the Mississippi), after Atlanta.

Excluding Florida (which is its own cultural thing) and Texas (which is more Southwest to me), I still think Charlotte is #2. It's much bigger, has a larger economy and much faster growth (Nashville city is barely growing by population).

Go the Giarratana website and scroll down to the amazing animation showing the time line and details of the construction along with the Prime Apartments beginning construction at the same time. The Alcove is the one on the left.

I saw these pop up on the Business Journals, so I grabbed the largest versions to post.
