Christ I've hated that tacky-ass T R U M P sign since the day it went up, well before Donnie's toxic politics came into focus.
It's like someone slapping a bumper sticker on a priceless Ferrari. I will dance in the street when it comes down.

I’d take the removal of that sign over another trophy tower rising from the river’s edge anyday

Massive Trump Tower sign along Chicago River must come down, alderman says
The residents of Trump tower gotta be pumped. That sign has got to be hurting condo values a bit. Not to mention the fact that I see people regularly giving the finger to that building from Michigan Ave.

I'm not sure what legal basis the city has to compel the removal of the sign. Seems like a loser in court.

i would hope that the city would make some kind of official public spectacle out of it.

call it the "Trump Dump" and figure out a way to blast those stupid ugly letters off of the side of the building and let them splash into the river below all while Steam's "na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" blares on loudspeakers to the cheers of millions!

maybe dye the river orange as one last final send off to all of his stupid fucking narcissistic orange-ass fakery.

that sounds like my kind of party!

Not a bad idea. St Patrick's day(drinking, eating, music and celebrations) the river is dyed green and on Dump Trump day(re-enactments of a coup, crying, nausea, and general malaise) it is dyed orange

I wonder what the probability is of this building being sold altogether. Gradually the whole gross T**** association to the building could change

That would be logistically difficult in a canyon of skyscrapers with roads, bridges, and boats underneath. The removal of that sign, like the installation, would need to be carefully planned and slowly executed. It can't be done under the cover of night. IIRC the original installation took a few weeks and went up one letter at a time.

If the city wants to take away the sign's power swiftly, it'd be a lot easier to invite that artist back with the floating pigs, and give him an arts grant to hire a parade balloon company for a "temporary arts installation".

Yeah, I'm sure it would be. May need to wait for a more business related catalyst. Do have this sneaking suspicion Trump Organization is about to "go through some things" as it were, so .
