My infuriating 2,000th birthday picture post

I was going to document everything in the city today. Luhr's, Cityscape, Convention Center, new "X" signage, courthouse, jellyfish park, ASU, etc.

My camera died maybe 1/6th into the day so I continued the tour without photos, and the netting is going up as we speak on the jellyfish.

Here are the pics I did get.

Luhr's is not going to be a hotel, that much I can promise you. There are workers inside and there are new air ducts on almost all of the floors, and even some new winders.

One of my favorite aspects of the convention center is the rain gutters and the lava waterfall. When it rains, the water collects in the trough and flows down the lava. It is really really cool.

The new signs are much better than the old copper square ones, but something that strikes me as funny is the signs that require you to see the high rises to read them that say "downtown" with an arrow. Really? thats downtown? fuckin' a!

I guess the cityscape entrance is going to be off 1st street for this building at least.

The old Luhrs' has an AWESOME elevator bank.

The courthouse site.

A Funny sign when you use the jail as a background.

Thats all I got. Sorry!!!!

Bummer your camera died, but it still looks nice! I love those silly little gold bug statues by the convention center.

Nice. I think the part of Luhr's that will be a hotel is the future new-build portion. The existing is being renovated into offices.

That is a very cool rain gutter system. I'm quite jealous, but how often does it get to perform it's job?

Interesting how nice and flat the site is for the future courthouse building. Right before they start digging the crap out of the site! I hope they start excavation right away.

So far the cladding on Cityscape is fairly underwhelming. Here's to hoping that it improves with quantity.

YAY thread... YAY posts...

I think the understated lighter colors of the CityScape office tower facade should complement a couple existing towers such as US Bank and Luhrs quite nicely.

The cityscape cladding actually looks quite a bit better in person.

yeah I like the cityscape cladding. My camera just sucks ass.

And I'm starting to get the feeling from the jellyfish netting that I will not be able to throw things in it as I have anticipated.
