Mon père est Acadien, et à la maison nous parlons chiac. Not English. Pas le français. Chiac la! C'est a bit more inclusive pour les anglophones; et pour moi, chiac est un unique langue du Canada.

J'adore la culture de Moncton, Nouveau-Brunswick!!

Yup. You'd be surprised by just how established, in every province, French Canada exists.

Halifax's francophone population is growing nearly as quickly as Moncton's, even though Halifax has long been considered, traditionally, an English town.

.... and you knew about that english community of Quebec city ? ... apparently they can all speak french, and they are around 10 000. In fact I never hear english here in the region except in the old town for tourists.

Believe it or not, when I must use French for anything work related, my dialect sounds formal enough that people doubt I'm from the Maritimes. The same is true enough for my English habits. On a fairly frequent basis, people guess I'm from Central Canada -- maybe Montreal, perhaps Toronto?...

Get me drunk, though, and my Chiac will hang...and hang low!

We say the same thing about Newfoundland English. "I don't have an accent? Give me a drink or two, and you'll hear it!"

A friend finally said, "You know, every Newfoundlander I've ever met has said that. Maybe there is no Newfoundland accent. Maybe being drunk is the Newfoundland accent."

And so I present to you:

Maybe Chiac is simply drunken Quebec French?

J'imagine que beaucoup de communautés francophones dans le reste du Canada ne sont pas des communautés historiques.... qui y sont seulement établies pour trouver un emploi et qu'au fil du temps ces communautés ont simplement grossi !

Par exemple les francophones de Winnipeg en est surement une historique tandis que celles des villes industrielles du sud de l'ontario comme toronto, ou windsor, non.

Plaisance (en anglais c'est "Placentia", je ne sais pas pourquoi), le dernier capitale francaise de Terre Neuve, juste avant le dernier victoire anglaise et l'exodus des personnes francaise a St-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

Nice thanks for the information ! ... placentia ? maybe is it latin ? ... just like terra-nova or nova scotia is ? thats only a guess.

I think peoples here are very open minded. I am myself. Anyway I think it is a part of what makes this section so popular.
Honnêtement, je suis surpris également, j'aurais cru que ça aurais duré quelques jours seulement, on vera bien, il ne faut pas parler trop vite

He was awesome. I usually vote Liberal provincially (though lately it's been NDP, now that they can actually win here). But while he was in power, I voted PC every time. He had his faults, of course... but they were entertaining. The bulk of what he did for our homeland was fantastic.

Our new premier is also funny in that she's a joke.

The perfect way to say it was :
Voici un clip avec Danny, c'est celui que j'aime le plus et je pense que c'est le plus drôle.

French communities are also implanted as far as Yukon. Even more impressive, you can find francophones in small towns like Dawson City and not just Whitehorse. I'd be suprised if such communities existed in NWT though, but who knows.
