LEIPZIG | a chimney transformed in a TV tower

This tower served until 1996 as chimney for a heating power station at Leipzig-Connewitz. In 2005, it was transformed in a tower for digital TV broadcasting. Therefore with a huge helicopter a broadcasting antenna was brought to its top and put up on its centre.

The tower cannot be used as chimney any more.

Which examples of obsolete chimneys with other use do you know?

That's cool, they can save some money if they need a TV tower and the chimmney is out of use.
