Here's the plan for the area around Casablanca Boulevard, where Grimsby's new GO Station will be built.

Compare the building heights/density here to the land-wasting stuff we've been building along the lake in Stoney Creek.

So are they demolishing basically everything between South Service Road and the QEW at Casablanca then (right now a bunch of restaurants and a welcome centre/food court thing)?

Eventually, yes. The plan is to develop the land over the next 20-30 years.

The next phase to start construction is the development on the North Service Road, east of Casablanca. Losani Homes owns the land, and they're launching that development this year ---> losanihomes.com/Communities/Grimsby

20 stories in a community the size of Grimsby is quite tall.. The condo market in general in Grimsby strikes me as very strong.

Funny how good urban design and development just skips right over Hamilton. It's 100% about city hall.

I would argue the Pier 8 development has the potential to be a great development that will heavily change how Hamilton looks in terms of work and people. The number of waterfront, brand new units going in there is crazy.

And it is being done in a smart, sustainable way.
