Bandra Kurla complex - Mumbai's upcoming financial district - though sadly it is midrise because of height restrictions.

India's tallest buildings under construction - The Imperial. The project has a a history of running into trouble. First many residents opposed its construction. Then the president of India's ruling political party asked for a stay. Finally after the courts cleared all the cases, it has been rising pretty fast. The latest threat is now from India's leading socialist activist who has asked the city to halt the project as she claims that it has been constructed illegally.

I understand why these groups might oppose the construction of skyscrapers, but what do they seriously hope to gain from halting construction when the project is more than 50% done? The building is going to have to be completed no matter what for safety reasons.
