Well done. Thanks to Richardson’s for putting their resources into building something special downtown. And of course to the architect.

If we're never getting Bond Tower or any other towers, filling that no mans land between Main/rail line/Exchange with buildings like this leading into The Forks would be enough for me!

I think once the railside development is finished this no-mans-land you mentioned will really start to be noticeable to even those who aren't interested in urban development. Railside is supposed to have a promenade of some sort and in typical Winnipeg fashion it will lead to nowhere. Those lots around the ballpark will be essential for connecting the forks to the exchange district. As of now it's all wide roads and traffic lights so it would be nice to see a plan put in place to make it more pedestrian friendly and aesthetically pleasing. Not that I expect it to ever be some quaint village-type location but as of now it feels like an interchange behind the tracks (which happens to be right where 3 neighbourhoods connect). Maybe once railside is complete those lots will be more attractive to developers. The Hyatt hotel was going to be the next piece in the puzzle but that seems to be kaput. So disappointing.

^ did they do any gorilla jumps on those stair landings..?

Looks very cool.

Also, the pictures of the people relaxing under that 10-foot cantilever, it's both a proud and terrifying feeling I get.

The fractured face limestone pieces look like little tufts of grass when the shadows are right. Looks cool.

I was getting wet fur vibes in the second picture he posted and I kinda love it

So nice to see a project turn out better than the rendering!

Wow. I thought those were renders for a second. Amazing shots. Absolutely stunning building.

(Would love to see you guys design a high rise that sees completion one day. Could be an absolutely category defining building)

That whole undeveloped area filled with buildings like these, a signature RT station (not just outdoor stops), bleeding into Railside..... ugh that'd be great.

I agree! Also, I can easily see some TV/Film production company wanting to use the building in some future project-it's visually stunning and would look great on film.

Very nice building, really adds to the area!

Question for TV - My wife works in the building so naturally I showed her these pictures. In the 6th picture there is a door just above the limestone (3rd floor I believe) and first thing she said was "hey that door - what the heck is it there for?". Apparently it doesn't lead to anything and this has been an ongoing discussion point among the minions that work there. Just curious.

^ that door leads to an outside patio that got value engineered out.

TV can probably comment as to whether or not it is still able to be added back in the future.

That's exactly what I thought. Good to know. I guess maybe it can be done in the future, but in the meantime it's just weird that the door ended up getting installed now since the low railing is not going to stop anyone that gets out there. Oh well.

Yeah. It was a rooftop patio. The finishing was deleted to save a bit of money. The glass guardrail is in place and the door is still there. I’m pretty sure one day it will be finished. It needs a different lock on the door, a couple steps down and some decking on the roof. Not a big cost. It would be so awesome.
