Modernism Week In Palm Springs California

Palm Springs has one of the largest collections of Mid Century Modern architecture in the United States. Palm Springs is about 100 miles east of Los Angeles. Went out there for Modernism Week and toured the town. It was a beautiful picture perfect weekend and 80 degrees each day.

Twin Palms also know as the Frank Sinatra House was designed in 1947 by architect E. Stewart Williams.

Nice, I would love to visit during the winter months as it’s my understanding the weather is gorgeous. I’ve been there in the summer and it’s brutal, but having good central air conditioning and a pool in a beautiful setting like my uncle’s home is quite nice. The one thing that would make it easy for me to visit is if there was good train service from LA, because I hate that drive.

God I love Palm Springs. Will be there in April. These pics give me life. Another good time to go, especially if you like the mid-century modernism but don't want the bigger crowds of Modernism Week is the Fall Preview they have, usually in October. Not as many places to see, but nice and laid back.

Nice to see it in daytime. I have only gone to Palm Springs for the nightlife with friends whenever we decide to take a trip out there. Beautiful place.
