Thanks frinky for starting the thread. Nice work.

Some of my pre-construction pics from a few weeks back:

Also, the Petro-Canada station at Westbrook will close May 15th for demolition. I was topping up my rental car's tank this morning and noticed the sign.

This actually looks really good. I hadn't seen most of this material before.

Thanks!

Are there still plans to expand it further? I remember looking at homes in Aspen Stone a couple of years ago and on the preliminary plans, nearest to 17th Ave., it was city owned land that was designated "Future LRT". That would serve the community of Aspen Stone, Montreux, etc., quite well. Either way, I'm excited this much is happening. More excited than the people in their $3+ million homes in Aspen Estates right next to it, anyways

Very exciting stuff!
I love the the elevated portions of this line - it's going to be very impressive entering downtown via Crowchild and Bow Trail.

Yep. The new LRV's will be cool to see all on their own, really we've only got a year or so before they will start arriving anyways.

Yeah I should include some LRV information in there. 21 were ordered specifically for this line (38 in total for the order).

Picture of 6th or 7th Street Station anyone?

You'll have to forgive my ignorance on the LRT system, but will it be *easy* or possible to go from 69th St. Station to the Saddledome?

What would the process be?

You would have to transfer to a southbound train when you enter downtown.

^ Depends, it may be the case that the West Line is run with the south line, as they may be the only two lines with 4 car capability in 2013, 2014.

True, that is a distinct possibility that we've heard rumored.

Thanks for the info

I'd probably be tempted to take the LRT in better weather, but... not during the dead of Winter!

if that is the case, shall i assume the NE and the NW line will run together?
