I tried copying the thread to the Chicago P & C subforum, but I received a prompt telling me that wasn't allowed...but I was able to copy the link the the 'Midwest' section, so it is accessible there. Perhaps another mod with higher access than myself can relocate that link into 'Chicago P & C'

Nice shot, JM!
Thanks! And yes, this one does look really nice. It is pretty clear glass, but when it reflects the sky at the right angle, it looks phenomenal. Should look great when completed.

I believe admins only have the power to do that.

no, not even admins can tag threads. there are only two people in the entire world (dylan & mike) who have the ability to tag threads at SSP, and getting their attention can take time.

it's a totally stupid situation, but apparently there's nothing that can be done about it because of the way the forum software is coded or something.

Windows are being installed at 707 N Wells now. First bit of ground-level foundation is poured for HoJo.

Sounds like an odd setup.

I already messaged the Forum Admin and he already forwarded the issue to one of the guys that can help...in the meantime, there is a copy of the thread in the 'Midwest' subforum that folks can use for now until the issue is resolved

I must say - with all of the shades of beige out there, why have they selected the worst possible one? Have they no regard for our eyes? Reminiscent of the elegant yellow hulk that is AMLI River North.

I think that specific color is called "Sheboygan Hampton Inn Fawn Khaki."

Thanks RNRA...

Uh wow that color is terrible. Why not just leave it unpainted. The concrete blends fine with the jumbo masonry units. Whatever, it's a total loss.

That color is horrid but a few winters and it will get dirty enough to merely look like baby feces

^ Painted cast in place concrete with faux joints to look like brick or stone needs to die right now. But aside from that, the building doesn't actually look that bad right now in the picture from the corner. I had to pull up the rendering to remind myself that the worst is still yet to come.

This one looks way more awkward and ugly in person. It's embarrassing that things like this get built.

Case Foundation is on site at No. 9 Walton.

There is a mobile crane like the ones they use to install tower cranes at HoJo, but no sign of a tower base yet.

I'm a little surprised how transparent that glass is. Think they'd maybe glaze/tint it after installing it?

^More likely some sort of window treatment, typical of hotels (drapes, blinds, etc).

Lately it's just been bluish, off blue, bluish green glass which on a cloudy day isn't so striking. It will be nice to see something pop-out in the forest of skyscrapers.

Another interesting feature is how the horizontal and vertical lines will pop. Instead of appearing as a solid volume, this will look more like a frame.
I agree! I'd love it if these proposals were the start of a trend. And you're right about the interaction of the horizontal and vertical elements; it has a skeletal, lattice-like effect, which is fitting for a skyscraper.

And Beaver House... ugh... that thing looks like a tombstone with vitiligo.
