nyc: two sheepshead bay & midwood, brooklyn destinations
i had to run an errand out here for work so...here we go!
BAM - off to sheepshead!

destination #1 - jay & lloyd’s old school deli
pastrami on rye & a side of zucchini pancakes = to die for!
kosher tai kwan do!
a classic old school chinese restaurant bites the dust…

if only this was a hipster neighborhood…

destination #2 is avenue j -- if you are a big pizza fanatic you know this place or heard of it

Excellent pics of two relatively little-known neighborhoods.
You also captured some of the less known corridors. Sheepshead Bay is best known for its "downtown" area around the Sheepshead Bay subway stop, and the waterfront strip along Emmons Avenue (along the namesake bay).
And Midwood is better known for the very prosperous Syrian Jewish population around Kings Highway.
And yes, both areas were formerly Italian, and are now heavily Orthodox Jewish, along with Russian Jews and (in Sheepshead Bay) some Chinese.
