Lately it's just been bluish, off blue, bluish green glass which on a cloudy day isn't so striking. It will be nice to see something pop-out in the forest of skyscrapers.

Another interesting feature is how the horizontal and vertical lines will pop. Instead of appearing as a solid volume, this will look more like a frame.
Trust me..this building will be invisible in the skyline

Things sure are moving quickly for the lake street proposal. Just this weekend I saw that they are doing a build out for a new dunkin donuts at lake and wells… which is just a few doors down from an existing one in the parking garage slated to go.

215 W lake - Soil testing 8/19

First step - drill holes through the garage floors ( the drilling will be done from the upper floor )

July 2008 - soil testing at 200 W Lake

^ Wow - great work to get these.

It of course makes perfect sense, but this is still somewhat jarring and, well - weird - to to see.....

Noticed a soil test rig working away yesterday on the surface parking lot between Lake and Randolph (east side of Desplaines). Anyone know what's supposed to go there?

There's a number of great photos on their fb page, especially of City Hyde Park.

What I really like about the UChicago dorm project is that gentle undulating curve design of the exterior panel system - I think it's relatively subtle, but it works.

Edit: Photo I was referring to

Here's the City Hyde Park image I was referring to:

Much as with Hovey, I really admire Roszak's bold use of color.....I mean, come'on - live a little, I say!

Muchymunch: Thanks for posting these renderings for both Roszak projects - fantastic work!
Yeah, South Loop Neighbors/MrD said the project was stalled. Hopefully it unstalled, that design looks great!

Also I'm glad we have a few talented architects in town who aren't afraid to use some bold color. Namely JGMA, Roszak, and Hovey.
Browsing through roszak's website (which is really nice), I came 400 Lake Shore Drive. Is this a thing?

The site they're on is where the Chicago Spire would have gone. People (especially posters on this forum) will really want something LARGE and unique. Those buildings are nice, but neither particularly large nor particularly inspiringly unique.

The Antuna-thing on LaSalle is under construction. Case rigs are set up and appear to be drilling.

There's an Antunovich project on LaSalle? Since when?

Sorry, meant the thing on Clark behind the bank. Also the Hudson is also under construction. Site work continues on No 9/Walton.

We are about to see 4 cranes rise over this area between those projects and Hojo Tower. There will be six including the Fifield project on Orleans and the condo tower on Rush.

It looks like Centrum is now considering their project at 1660 W Division to be Phase 1 of a two phase plan to connect Division to Milwaukee with plazas and 275 apartments over retail (in 7, 9, and 12 story buildings) with mostly-underground parking (145 of 156 spaces underground).

http://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20150...-public-spaces

I'll be looking forward to more renderings and plans, but this sounds good to me so far.
