I also was going to post I saw them ripping up the parking lot this morning at erie & wells, but emathias beat me to it!

Also of note, they are really cranking things out at moody now along wells and locust, caisson rigs working and such this morning

I think if they would refinish the L under Franklin it would help spur things. It looks awful

Maybe once they finish with Wabash they'll consider Franklin. Franklin really doesn't have the shops presence of Wabash, although as those empty lots along it get developed that could easily change and a nicer presence under the tracks would help move it that direction. The 'L' structure on Franklin is considerably wider than along Wabash. That makes driving better, but not sure it helps walking any.

AFAIK, a developer could use the existing PD. But with such a low unit count approved, it would likely require an amendment. I think.

The one on the SW corner of Huron will be built up. The one on the SE corner of Erie is owned by Catholic Charities, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Same with the McDonalds one. There have been a number of proposals for the ones between Hubbard and Illinois, so I hold out a little more hold for those. Ohio House is anyone's guess, but with HoJo gone it's probably just a matter of time now. The BP station would be nice to see gone, but being the only gas station south of Chicago Ave in Near North it seems to be doing good business at all hours.

Last year I had 707 N Wells and the Exhibit (aka HoJo) under construction behind me. Not to mention the Gino's East and Ed Dubevic's finishing up. This year I get 676 N Lasalle and 675 N Wells under construction in front of me. Can hardly wait for it to be done. More stuff around, less active construction.

I don't care either way about Hooters - as a gay man it really holds no special place in my heart. But I do wish the owners of the 1-story set of shops north of Hooters would rebuild bigger instead of just refurbishing as is their current plan.

As a gay man from Florida, I actually love hooters, wouldn't mind seeing the building go however, as long as hooters relocates somewhere else downtown (perhaps the old chili's spot??)

Also I was recently on DNA page, and saw that they listed the sterling bay union station tower approved for 95 stories, now I'm taking this with a massive grain of salt and going with that it was an error, but worth noting.

Who owns 625 w. Monroe? I know that kickass supertall is dead but do those same developers still plan to do anything over there or did they sell it?

Also has anyone heard about the latest in that design proposal contest for union station. I'm guessing the designs are still under review but didnt know if any images have been released aside from the one posted earlier.
