Finishings will likely all be cheap Chinese made shit that looks good for a couple of years before falling apart.

Brown, as it better represents this one. A giant turd on Broadway.

I think it’s fine - it’s not glorious but not everyone can live in glorious, and affordability will keep broadway’s personality the way it is. Broadway reminds me a lot of Osbourne Street in Winnipeg which also showcases a lot of dull colours. I think the dullness is a reality of Broadway to keep it not looking too modern. Modern looks can stay around the river and downtown

^^^ It definitely adds a bit of bulk to Broadway. This terrible pic was taken into the sun and I did not notice the obstruction. I could not see screen in bright sunlight.

^^^ From S.E. corner of Broadway and Main. It looks very stubby in person.

^^^ From Main St. There is no sign of siding on the upper floors yet.

^^^ Some initial siding on the podium. My eyes are so bad I cant really tell what it is. It looks like some sort of aluminium panelling.

Thanks, alt. We can only hope that Urban Capital will come back with a revised proposal for Broadway, giving something not ugly to look at. Obviously I support density and I'm happy to see this go up, but man is it ever looking like crap.

With this current baydo tower, the urban capital proposal ( let's say it's still in the running ) , and the tower that Wright construction wants to do on dufferin-main st ; I wouldnt be surprised if something will happen to that extra foods store in the near future.

The whole broadway area seems to have big plans to re develop

Compare this to the original renderings.

I certainly have my opinion about this building's architectural merits.

Agreed - they’re pretty much spot on with the render (so far). It’s a shame it wasn’t nicer looking from the start lol.

To me it seems the original rendering (at the start of this thread) shows much larger windows and (faux) stone accents on the podium. Yes, its early, but to me it looks they have really cheaped out compared to the original podium rendering. Lets see how it turns out.

Ahh you’re right, my bad, I forgot they changed the render. I really hope they don’t pull the same stunt with the 25th and 5th Ave towers*

Edit: *unless they miraculously decide to improve the design. I really wish they at least staggered the two tower heights
