Thaks!
The extension of that line is going to confuse people.

Nifty little viewing platform with see-through grating tho, but yes, the narrowing is a bit odd, I'm guessing the line will becoming a different shade of concrete.

The coal harbour seawall is nothing but people cluelessly walking into each other as it is. Just more of the same.

I take it that the pedestrian part of the walkway and the view point is all done and finished, with them still working on the bike part of the walkway to be finished hopefully soon.?

The bike lanes are about half paved, they were working on the second part today so once they're cured it should be open, perhaps for the weekend.

I think that's the plan, to have it open for Canada Day.

I assume it is all finished now and open to the public, bike lane included, it would be nice to see what the final product looks like.

Nope, not open to bikes yet, I walk it every morning on my way to Club16 so I'll post photos as soon as it opens. Can't believe how slow the whole project has been!

Have they actually finished constructing and paving the bike lane part and are just waiting for the paving to cure before opening it up to the public?

How long does such paving usually require to cure and when did they finish paving it?

When I walked by it today I saw the bike lane open though the part behind it is still fenced off.

IIRC you should let concrete cure for about 28 days before letting it handle heavy weights, although curing can take several years for the concrete to reach its ultimate strength. For a bike path, it should be hard enough after a few days.

Not sure what the bike path is made from.

Hmm...how do they build condo towers then? They don't wait that long between adding concrete pours for floors.

They leave the forms in place for 4wks, hence on the typical tower that pours a floor a week, you'll see the 3 levels below it still have their forms in place.
The Hoover dam is said to still be curing today.

I work out at the Fitness World on Bute and Georgia every Saturday morning and passed by the Lululemon Half Marathon. As I don't reside in Vancouver everyday, this may be more common, but I have never seen the Olympic cauldron area so full of life (the Olympics excepted, of course). It was really awesome.

With the Cactus Club and all the businesses, there are more people this summer than ever. I love that there is the new restaurant on the Burrard face of Waterfront Centre too.

Is the construction seen in the last photo beside the seawall still undergoing, or has it been completed with all equipment withdrawn with the area normal again.?

Yeah, just a big empty space now, even the fencing is gone. What do they have planned for that space, anyone know?
