It would be nice to see that entire low-rent block razed...I wonder if COVID will factor into that at all...

I desperately want to see 579 Fifth and the hideous building next to it (i.e., "NY Gifts") razed ASAP.

The Philipines Airlines building and the Smilers "Deli" are also horrible.

Yeah, those blocks are horrible. Demolish and redevelop with new towers, please!

I dislike much of what you say, but I have to admit that was well crafted.

I'm not as conservative as you think. I'm actually a fiscally-conservative Democrat (i.e., I can't stand AOC, Warren, Sanders, et al.).

Oh come on when has politics ever ruined a forum???

Anyways, depending on who owns the building and the duration of the pandemic yes, we could see these little eyesores being bought out. RE prices are crashing and there is a lot of uncertainty as to how long a recovery may take. Plus, small tenets are not going to be able to pay the bills if things keep going the way they are...

This was (and may still be) a design for this site. I'd like to see more.

This site is enormous and demands a landmark supertall, hopefully by a starchitect. And yeah, I could see the site growing now that the adjacent site is for sale.

Extell better hit a home run here.
