I understand that, but being on a skyscraper website, I'd like to see some variability in the skyline that isn't facade color/materials.

Definitely a fantastic redevelopment of a site that has some pretty great views of the skyline, sans the Ameren high voltage lines in the rail yard.

Man, I am loving the level of development happening in St. Louis City.

I am not happy with the slowdown in CORTEX though.

What is the new CORTEX CEO doing to help push start stalled projects?

I have not heard from the new guy. Crickets.

Ex- CEO, Dennis Lower, was everywhere even in slow times.

Also, I feel that Ballpark Village III needs to be in a planning stage. Where are the renderings?

Awesome drone shots, Chris. I love the shot of the ever-changing CWE skyline.

I've always liked Pershing Ave. My family used to live on Nina Place and even as a kid I was impressed by the architecture.

The new apartment buildings are awesome.

I also remember the roar of the trains passing behind the building and me running to see the huge locomotives seemingly flying on the tracks. The whole building would seem to shake.

The Minneapolis-based company, which has a Clayton office, is eyeing the vacant lot at 1014 Spruce St. to develop 146 market-rate apartments, 3,000 square feet of commercial space and 55 parking spots, according to city documents.

Opus-St. Louis is trying to stay (somewhat) with the height and character of the old Cupples Station complex.

1. I get it. Just make it taller.
2. Downtown needs more residential.
3. A view of the Arch and a peek into Busch could be selling point for a taller structure.
4. I don't think more apartments (a taller building) with this project would impact Phase 3 at BPV.

Altus Properties, of Clayton, is proposing a 227 unit apartment project with 4000sf of retail space and a parking garage on a parcel in the "Creve Coeur Pavilion" shopping center at Old Olive and Olive just West of Lindbergh. Bayer-Monsanto is around there too. Trivers is the architect on the project. This will replace a California Pizza Kitchen and Stir Crazy.

This joins the recently completed "Vue at Creve Coeur" and "Vanguard Heights" apartment complexes, which are neighbors to the Pavilion.

254-unit apartment building proposed for 4120–4144 Lindell Blvd

Quote:
Garrison Companies of Kansas City is planning a 254-unit apartment building here. Still early on in the process though. It leaves the 4140 Lindell building out of nit since that was not for sale. B+A Architecture of Kansas City is the architect.

It has the name "41 Lindell" right now.

LaunchCode plans remodel, expansion of mentor center on Delmar

Quote:
St. Louisans used to walk into the Nathaniel J. "Nat" Rivers Office of the Division of Workforce Development in search of answers about unemployment benefits. That was before LaunchCode, a nonprofit organization that trains workers in tech fields and places them in apprenticeships, bought the building at 4811 Delmar and turned it into its mentor center. But now a new transformation is taking place: LaunchCode is remodeling the center to expand and accommodate more students. It has just wrapped up a $5 million fundraiser and expects to start construction in the next couple of months, with a projected opening of fall 2021. LaunchCode founder Jim McKelvey puts it simply: “It was a big, ugly building, and now it’ll be a big beautiful building.”
