Thanks, Rwarky! I don't think we're done yet though. We just have to wait for the dust to settle from this most recent "boom." It was pretty big and over speculated, and yes the city is currently overbuilt because so many speculators forfeited their deposits rather than buying when the market hit the ceiling, but with the euro still pretty strong against the U.S. dollar, I think between now and November is the best time for foreign investors to buy. What this Miami forumer said a while back on SkyscraperCity does give me hope for seeing more approved projects get out of the ground in the future.
"Since I'm involved in the south florida consulting world I sometimes come across some projects that are of interest to this forum. Let me just add that a lot of developers are getting ready for the
2010-2012 seasons, so don't assume that the construction will stop like a lot of people seem to be predicting."
It would appear that interest in developing Miami further in the future is still strong in spite of what the market is doing right now, so we shall see what else is in store for us further down the road. It simply might be that we just have to wait a little longer for some of our more interesting projects to get out of the ground.
