New Selig development in Midtown

I don't subscribe but there is a story in today's ABJ about Selig proposing a new mixed use development including a spec office tower across the street from 1105 West Peachtree. Color me intrigued.

465 apartments but more than 1600 parking spots right next to a MARTA station...Atlanta gotta do better. The only city in the south with heavy rail yet treats the system like an afterthought.

We should have renderings tonight, as it’s on today’s DRC Agenda.

I heard that the Campanile building has filed for permitting and Dewberry has a $180 million loan secured to fund it? Not sure how true that is, but fingers crossed...

I thought that one looked like it was in Buckhead!

I think they've conducted another 'study', deemed it feasible, and there is still hope it will move froward. I have my doubts, though.

Years ago when Dallas first proposed a deck park over Woodall Rogers Freeway there was a huge push back due to the cost ( even though much of the funding was coming from private sources ). It was crazy........building a park over a freeway ?? But the park not only stitched Uptown and Downtown and land values on both sides of the park increased creating a boom in construction on both sides of the park. That success has led to an additional deck park ( now under construction ) in South Dallas near the Dallas Zoo. IMO Atlanta would see the same positive impact on real estate values which would pay for any expenses incurred.

Yes, definitely-- although less so in Buckhead than in Midtown or Downtown--

I'll be visiting Atlanta next week for business for four days. Staying at the Georgia Tech Hotel. Will try to snap some pics. Excited for the visit.
