Boston is one fine city, thanks for your pics. Did you notice how old were some of the tombstones you saw? Most of them dates back to the 1600's!

I'll post a new post in the next few days with my pics of Harvard-MIT and Salem

I didn't name everything I show but except for most of new buildings (names are welcome if you know them) and since my memory is still fresh, ask me for details, maybe I learned enough to tell you what

Yes I saw that, I took some pics of more recent tombstones, it was easier to read the year of death.

amazing tour, definitely a city I need to visit. Great shots all around as well.

A few comments on the city, the Boston City Hall, while you might not like it, is a great example of a movement that happened that tried to redefine architecture as a permanent places. The city hall is meant to look weighted and solid because it was a backlash that was happening against the modern movement about barely touching the ground and having large window planes that make the building almost disappear. Of course with that said, the plaza is horribly designed and needs to be redesigned.

Another statement on Boston, while it might be a general statement and I understand the history of water in cities, Boston definitely looks as if water is a burden towards development. The city has grown tremendously over the water and marsh land that use to be there. It is funny how we were so willing to build cities on such swampy locations back then.

Nice pics. Just so you know, "Charles River Park" and the Esplanade are two VERY different things. The Esplanade, which you photographed, is one of Boston's treasures. Charles River Park is the site of Boston's worst redevelopment project, which came at the cost of a neighborhood the size of North End.

By the way, did you know that the future king of France, Louis Phillippe, lived in this restaurant 's second floor in 1796? He earned a living teaching French to the Bostonian aristocracy.
And the lobster newberg is really good there. Yummy.

Wonderful shots of a wonderful city. Lots of cities talk about about being or becoming 'world class' -Boston is and has been for a long time.

Time in New England took me away to long rocky beaches --and you, by the bay. Thanks for taking me back!
