Yeah, this one (from the Suburban Thread).
The midrise block in front is a proposed hotel.

See the full report at https://www.newwestcity.ca/council_m...PC-13.2018.pdf. Most interesting is probably the discussion around height and density, which I'd expect to create some pushback:

I'll post a render below to give an initial sense of the project. If someone else has a bit more time to summarise with project stats and extensive renders be my guest. There's a lot to consider here with the height, pedestrian connections, existing traffic problems on Carnarvon (partial pedestrianisation is being considered) and close proximity to multiple other planned developments.

Proposed. The report to the Land Use Planning Committee was just for pre-approval, there are still a lot of unanswered questions with that proposal.

What's going on with the CRAFT site? Is something else going in there now?

I drove through the area on Saturday and the 4th tower looks really tall thanks to the massive podium. It actually appears much taller than both Riversky towers nearby, even though ground elevation is almost the same.

Thanks for the photos. While the painted concrete is an improvement over the bare concrete of the preceding towers, and the different massing is appreciated, too, the sum of the parts of this project is underwhelming.

I think this area needs more urban landscaping, trees, shrubs and greenery in general.

I see the same problem with the Main Street skytrain station now. If there is a mall right next to McDonald's, and linked to the skytrain, just like the more forward-thinking mayor of New West stated, the "eyes on the streets" of the good citizens would eradicate the seediness of the area as well. But then in Vancouver folks have a totally different mindset....so the rot is always there, and it has become worse even after the skytrain station is renovated.

Note that the original concept for CityGate was supposed to be more integrated with Main Street station:

One of the 1,100 sqft sub-penthouses is renting for $2,795. Comes with an amazing 750 sqft patio.

It's always the same dog and pony show.

A was built, so B is the outcome. Just repeat everywhere A everywhere and everything will be wonderful.

I actually appreciate when landlords provide the layout. Pictures are rarely worth a much and only tell you so much.

With such a tall podium, this building towers over the taller River Sky towers...

I think that's Riversky, not tower 4.
