We bring you only the finest in soccer-related HOA news on CCSS. Also of note is that the club is doing the site prep for the walk from the station to the stadium right now in anticipation of it happening. That station will be maybe a couple hundred yards from the stadium when it goes in.

I'm glad they're planning for Prop A passing. I'm not.

Haha nice work guys! The interview with Weston Appelfeller was great btw.

Any chance we can get an infrastructure-related interview on the pod? That would be pretty interesting. The architect one was interesting as well, maybe you can have him back after the stadium is complete to talk about the final product.

Really anything involving people who are working on stuff that's just tangentially related to soccer is super interesting. People at the city transportation department or cap metro for gameday transportation, the YETI folks plans for merchandising, Austin Industries construction staff, seat manufacturers, analytics, let's hear it all.

Glad you liked. We've talked about some other related stuff.

I'd like to cover the breweries around the stadium and what they have in mind for game day at some point. Also the sponsorship folks whenever we get a stadium naming rights deal done. And the fan/gameday experience people at the club when we get to 2021. How do they plan to engage people at the site? Something like Bevo Blvd for UT?

If you're taking requests

plans for bike parking on game day would be interesting, as I may be doing that (once the 2016 bond work is done on Burnet).

Apparently for "mid-rise, mixed-use development" called "Soccer Square"

Permit shows it is being developed by Ironwood Real Estate

From Ironwood's Website:
Quote:
SOCCER SQUARE
10435-10515 Burnet Road
Austin, Texas 78758
Ironwood and its partners have assembled real estate West of the Austin FC major league soccer stadium, which will be completed by Spring 2021.
A mid-rise, mixed-use development is planned for the assemblage.

From Ironwood's Website:
So a Soccer Square mixed use project located on Bright Verde Way next to Austin FC's 20k+ seat pro soccer stadium, a stones throw from the southern district of our "2nd downtown".

Great find. Spring 2021 completion date. That's a fast turnaround. That retail component will be popular if it's not an Orange Theory or something. I'm hoping for a nice restaurant and/or bar.

I passed the demo the other day -- it was about halfway done at the time. There's going to be a good amount of land in that combined parcel -- I'm hopeful we get a good development there.

Also gotta say, it's gratifying to see the stadium already doing what we thought it would do -- flipping a slew of nearby properties into redevelopment. Give it three years -- that area's going to be unrecognizable.

I think that’s the completion date of the stadium, not the development.

Good point. This stadium at least on the inside will bleed Verde. Verde grass and verde seats. I can even see verde reflecting off of the overhang ceiling.

It's also the completion date for Bright Verde Way.

This has probably been answered before, but is Research Square going to be re-developed? I would prefer it to be left as open space to give an unobstructed view of the stadium from Burnet Rd from the shopping center to Discount Tire.

Protected Stadium View Corridors? SVC for short. The NIMBYs will be all out against their view of the stadium being blocked while stuck in traffic on Burnet.
