Last fall I had the chance to visit Lusaka, a city that is seldom seen on this forum. It's a vibrant, dusty, growing city of 2.4 million people, where extreme poverty rubs shoulders with a small wealthy elite. To be honest, as a tourist it's not immediately clear what to do in Lusaka, but it's still an interesting city to spend a few days in. The people are friendly, the food is great, and the markets are bustling. I hope you enjoy this mini-tour of Zambia's capital!
Africa, is it safe in there? How is people's daily life in there? Do they have dreams?
Umm... Well, Africa is a really big continent. Lusaka (and Zambia as a whole) felt very safe. Zambia's human development index ranking is #139 out of 188. Compared to other African countries, it's #15 out of 52.
Nice pictures! There's so many questions to ask, but I'll limit myself. so what did you do there? Any museums there? National parks? what is that Samsung building used for?

They do have a national museum that was small but decent. There are a few good cafes we hung out at, and went to a couple of nice tourist shops (last few pictures). Honestly just walking around the crowded markets was an experience. There are national parks, but you have to travel a bit away from Lusaka. We went to Livingstone and Victoria Falls, and crossed over into Botswana to see Chobe National Park.
